The Birthday Celebration takes place in Home Park (Private) Windsor Castle. Windsor is a busy town, just off junction 6 of the M4; we advise visitors to Royal Windsor Horse Show to use public transport where possible. »Download a map of Windsor Town

The only road closure planned around this event is to be Park Street, this road will be closed on Sunday 15th May from 3pm. There will also be limited parking on Park Street from the morning on Saturday 14th May.

Windsor & Eton Central Station is approximately a 10-15 minute walk from the entrance to the show and is served by First Great Western trains allowing travel via Slough from London Paddington in the east and from Reading in the west. Trains leave at half hourly intervals with the last departing at approx. 23.30hrs.

Windsor & Eton Riverside Station is approximately a 5-minute walk from the entrance to the show and served by South West Trains allowing travel from London Waterloo in the east and many towns in the south and west via Staines. Trains leave at half hourly intervals with the last departing at approx. 23.20hrs.

Wednesday to Friday

  1. The nearest motorways to the showground are the M4, M25 and M3. AA signage will direct you to available car parks outside the showground.

Parking

There is limited car parking in the show car park and this should be purchased in advance when booking your tickets. Parking costs £9 on site. It is no longer available to purchase in advance.

Disabled parking is available for Blue Badge holders and this must be purchased in advance.

Please use the A303 /M3 (J3) as opposed to the M4 (J6) wherever possible, thus avoiding Windsor Town Centre. A list of available car parks can be found here.

On Sunday additional overflow parking will be available at the Windsor Boys school which is located on the Maidenhead road. This costs £9.

Travelling from the M4 Maidenhead (J7/8) and Slough (J6)

Follow the AA signs to the Show Car Park.

Travelling from the M3 (J3)

Designated routes will direct you via Ascot, Windsor Great Park and Datchet to the Show Car Park.

Travelling from the North and East

Please approach via the M25 (J 13) or M4 (J5) at Colnbrook. Designated routes will direct you via Datchet to the Show Car Park.

Town Centre Car Parks

There are also council-run car parks in and around the town centre.

Road Works

Major roadworks on the A355 Tuns Lane are causing significant delays for those travelling westbound from Windsor towards junction 6 of the M4. We advise guests attending RWHS and HMQ90 are advised to seek alternative routes to travel home.

Alternative routes include: M4 junction 8 / 9 following the A308, M3 Junction 3 following the A332, M25 Junction 13  following the A308.

Operators or Organisers of coach parties have two options for parking. Please note spaces are limited for option 1 and must be pre-booked by calling the box office on 0844 581 4960. Coach parking costs £25 per space.

  • Romney Lock Road coach park located approximately a 5-minute walk to the Show entrance. Parking must be booked in advance through the box office by calling 0844 581 4960
  • Alma Road Coach Park, located approximately 10-15 minutes walk to the Show entrance. This can be pre-paid through the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Council website

Minibuses of up to 15 people may park in the Show Car Park and will pay for x 2 car park spaces; larger minibuses are classed as coaches and should use the coach parks described in the Coach tab.
